A note on Corruption, Caste, Cinema over a cup of Chai.

Venue: My Friends Irani Hotel
Wing Commander Mr.Rao [Retd] comes out of the municipal office
seething with anger and frustration and tells his friend Arif These
fellows [indicating the municipal building] waste so much time over
petty things and do not bother to show basic courtesy when a citizen
comes to pay taxes. In this age of computerization they still continue
to do things manually, I dont know when things will change, they are
asking me to come after an hour, chalo lets have a cup of chai and
catch up with old times. Rao and Arif head towards My Friends hotel
and occupy a table .Meanwhile Patel who was sitting on the adjacent
table wishes Rao and Arif and he is joined by his friend Srinivas.
Patel asks Kya re kitna school badlega Rohan ke liye?[How many
schools will you change for Rohan?].
Srinivas replies Arre Yaar the previous schools did not have proper
playgrounds nor P.E.T, I am happy at least this one has.
Patel: why do you fuss so much about playgrounds?
Srinivas: If children dont play how will they learn interactive
skills, develop other skills as communications, team building,
leadership etc other wise the will end up becoming Social Retards.
Patel: Whats that? Social Retard kya hai woh?
Srinivas : A Socially retarded child is one who is over protected, over
pampered, by the over possessive parents .They do not allow the child
to grow in a normal way ,they do the work their child needs to do and
learn thus hampering the actual learning curve for a child and our
generation focuses only to get their children plan their careers in
IIT, Medicine ,IAS Officers etc as if the fellows who have not done
these are parasites .Their focus is only to get that BIG FAT DOWRY for
their son or if their daughter has done medicine and passed her USMLE
with great percentile she can get dowry waiver as part of her US
Immigration process as she is a blank cheque to the family. We have
become so narrow in our mindset that we want to be the elite first in
my caste , my social circle and what not no one cares about the values
we are implanting in fresh young minds. We accept dowry and corruption
as the in thing and there is no sense of remorse at all .Higher the
educational qualification narrower the mind is my opinion.
Patel : Arre Srinu chalta hai yehi zamane ke tareekhe hain mere bhai-
this is the way society has been from long ago how can we you and me
change things , Light le le
Srinivas : Dont give me that balderdash .I think we should scrap that
dowry act .When everyone is giving and accepting dowry ,why continue
that farce , I am angry at this double faced law. It gives enormous
power to a mischievous mind and there are instances reported in papers
about its abuse to the hilt. I dont understand why the so called big
shot judges scrap it?
Patel: What are you talking, other day my fathers friend who happens
to be a high court judge took an ugly fat dowry for his son and all the
invites were criminals from political, bureaucratic and high profile
business backgrounds. That clearly shows the proximity of the tainted
fellows with the judiciary aur yeh sab mamool hai re [This is
accepted here]
Rao and Arif: Sorry Kids We were partially responsible for that
Srinivas: No Uncle it is not like that we need to think about the
future of our kids especially this MTV generation.
Arif: Yes they watch lot of TV and Internet. Arre my grandson does not
leave that mobile phone of his, constantly sending sms es, I dont know
what they send ?
Srinivas: I am not saying MTV Channel uncle they have become MEMORISE
TO VOMIT IN EXAMS-thats why I call them MTV, They do not understand
the fundamental application of knowledge to real world scenario .Other
day I was interviewing a 95% student from a reputed engineering college
and when asked about the functions of motherboard and you know what
reply I got?
Patel: In C.P.U aur kya? [Sipping his chai]
Srinivas: The answer he gave was motherboard is in the keyboard
Patel: throws his chai and starts laughing uproariously Kya bol ra re?
Srinivas: No I am not joking this is true, when I asked my niece who
has just completed her 12th std about a question that came in her paper
about Nalgonda deflouridation technique as why is it called so by that
name and why it cannot be called as Delhi or California D.F.T .Reply
she gave was Mama- that is out of portion, we were not told .Imagine
this is the standard in which the MTV kids are learning
Patel: laughing uproariously, Rao and Arif too join the laughter
Rao: How has this rot set in?
Srinivas: A mentally deranged educationists started this concept
schools where students are made to memorise even mathematics, can you
believe that? So we cant blame the kids. It is the corporate concept
schools /engineering /MBA/MCA institutions are flushing out junk every
year. Every year the employability levels is coming down drastically.
We need to change this on war footing basis else it is disaster in
making.
These 4 are joined by an A.D and B.L on the adjacent table. A.D=
Assistant Director in Tollywood [Telugu film Industry] and B.L =
budding lyricist and their conversation is as follows
A.D: Give me some youth youth lyrics
B.L: I have already given 12 varieties sir what more can you ask for
A.D : You see , your lyrics are good and can be tuned as sweet melodies
but todays youth wants kick amma [ typical lingo used in telugu film
industry]leka pothe workout avvadu [ else it will not workout]
B.L.gives a silent laugh and A.D asks him to explain the reason for the
cynical laugh
B.L.: Once upon a time in MAYA BAZAAR, A.N.R addressed Savitri -
Chupulu Kalsina Shubhavela , later it was followed by Chiranjeevi
dancing ecstatically in Abhilasha saying Eureka Saka Mika , Navinndi
girlfriendu But today An Allu Arjun shouts from top in deshamuduru
RA YE , RA YE , YENDE NI GODAVA What a deterioration in the way we
address a loved one , I just dont understand .
As they are discussing , A Saint Baba walks and takes up the nearby
table and orders for his chai .The A.D and B.L rush to him and request
him to predict their future. The Team of 4 are observing the events in
an amusing manner .The Baba predicts that A.D will go back to his
family poultry business and B.L.will become a journalist in a local T.V
News channel .Both are surprised at the outcome and dumbfounded. The
original 4 invite Baba and ask him to predict the future for the common
man in India more so in Hyderabad. Baba says Do you insist ?
Srinivas and others say :YES
Baba predicts :
Violence and Population in society will increase drastically
Wealth distribution will be unequal and this will lead to
anarchic society
Merit in every aspect will sink disturbing the moral fiber of
the society
Healthcare will be only for the rich and the corrupt, the
middle class will be left with huge public and personal debt that their
generations cannot repay and the elite will live off the public money
that middle class pays as taxes
Ground water levels will deplete, concrete jungles will
increase.
NRI s will return and more gated communities will be created
There will be taxes, taxes taxes.only the middle class
,working class will be taxed and the rich and the poor will get all the
subsidies as they in turn have all the power to decide and effect
State and Central govt machinery will exist only on paper
.There will be more castes ,sub-castes ,religions demanding more quotas
leading to chaotic administration and pathetic attitude towards the
country in totality .
The Farmer will suffer, The Jawan will continue to work as
sahayak s only ,The guru will never get the deserved respect
Terrorists and Maoists will continue to plunder the public
property and there will be few candle protests and life moves on..
Future Kids will receive only Online RATNA awards as there will
be no playgrounds and it will be sold by the successive governments
Flyovers will collapse frequently, TV Channels will discuss why
a cow is not giving milk and there will expert panel giving all kinds
of idiotic suggestions
All kinds of sports matches will be fixed and Sportsmen will be
more in ads than in grounds
Baba asks the 4 : Ask you today WHY WE HAVE CREATED WHAT WE HAVE
CREATED AND HOW WILL THE FUTURE BE FOR MY KIDS .ASK
Srinivas : Baba is everything negative , nothing positive ??
